Raul Alejandro Ocasio Ruiz born on January 10, 1993, is a Puerto Rican singer/songwriter. He is referred to as "the King of Modern Reggaeton"[2][3] and belongs to "the new generation of Puerto Rican urban artists. [4] His debut studio album, Afrodisiaco, was released in November of 2020. Vice Versa is his second studio album, was released in June 2021. It featured the lead song "Todo de Ti". He's won two Latin Grammy Awards from twelve nominations. Raul Alejandro Ocasio-Ruiz was born on January 10, 1993, in San Juan, Puerto Rico and was raised in Canovanas and Carolina. His father Raul Ocasio Ruiz played guitar and his mother Maria Nelly Ruiz was his back-up vocalist. He was introduced to music by Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley. [6] For many years, Alejandro and his father resided in the continental United States, mainly Miami and New York City, where they were influenced by the R&B and dancehall genres. 7] 8 Alejandro and his fellow Puerto Rican rapper Anuel AA are childhood friends; they each attended the same school and had classes together. 9/10/10 Alejandro was a skilled dancer in his youth and was an active participant in talent shows. After graduation from high school Alejandro attended the University of Puerto Rico. He played soccer between the ages of six and twenty. But , he resigned because he was unable to perform as he was expected to. He moved to Orlando, Florida to attempt to be scouted in the Premier Development League (PDL) however, he was not successful. Rauw Alejandro is known for his Latin R&B, Latin Reggaeton and rhythmic pop music. Billboard declared that this style makes him make a name for himself among a growing number of pop-leaning reggaetoneros. He was inspired early on by Presley and Jackson in the early days, but later by Ricky Martin, Daddy Yankee and Chris Brown. He also cites Ciara as an influence in music.
